Legal Experience

Laura Gibbes has more than 25 years of experience as a litigator, beginning her career as a law clerk for Honorable William H. Barbour, Jr. and working with several top Mississippi law firms before joining Purdie and Metz in 2016. She has an extensive background in commercial litigation, handling anti-trust claims, business interference, non-compete claims, fraud and breach of contract. Laura’s wide practice range also includes environmental litigation, products liability defense, banking and lender liability claims and insurance disputes. As counsel for Purdie and Metz, Laura also represents the Mississippi Division of Medicaid in administrative hearings, litigation, and appeals regarding a wide range of healthcare issues, including disputes with medical providers over reimbursement and other regulatory matters.
